Built entirely by the professionals we source for our clients

About

Both sides
have to win

Aptcruit places remote professionals with US and Canadian companies. It only works if the arrangement is good for the company and good for the person, and most of this industry optimises one of those.

The idea

Two problems that nobody connects

One is expensive. The other is wasted. They solve each other.

Small companies carry payroll costs they do not need to carry, and hiring is slow and painful. A founder spends two months and forty resumes to fill one role, and often gets it wrong anyway.

Meanwhile there are enormous numbers of capable people outside the US and Canada who are as good as a local hire, sometimes better, and who cost a fraction as much to engage.

The obvious version of that business is arbitrage: pay as little as possible, charge as much as the market bears, move volume. That is not what this is, and not because of sentiment. It does not work. A contractor who feels underpaid leaves, and a placement that ends in month four costs the client far more than the discount was worth.

So the people we place earn well for the markets they are in, and they work on terms they would choose. That is what makes them stay, and staying is the entire product.

The founder

One person,
and he writes code

Why an engineer ended up running a staffing agency.

I am a software engineer. Four years building production frontends, a computer science degree, and I still write code every week. That is not incidental to this business, it is the reason I trust what we send you.

Every candidate goes through the same pipeline, whatever the role. A structured assessment built for the job, a review of every submission rather than only the ones that scored well, a screening conversation, reference checks and an English evaluation. Nobody gets forwarded because their CV read well and we were busy, which is how most agencies work and why clients end up interviewing six people to find one.

Being an engineer helps on technical roles, where I can read how someone reasoned through a problem rather than only whether they finished it. That is an advantage on that side. It is not where the standard comes from.

I built this website. I built the platform we run the business on. The people we place do this work, and so do I.

The stage

Early, and not hiding it

What that gets you, what it costs you, and what changes later.

Aptcruit is early. No decade of placements, no client logos, no case studies.

  • What you get for it

Direct access to the person who runs the company. Your engagement gets attention a larger agency reserves for larger clients. Every placement matters to us more than it will in three years, and that shows in how carefully we do them.

  • What it costs you

You are taking a risk on a company without a track record. There is no way to argue that away, so we do not try. What we do instead is put the protections in the contract: replacement with no time limit, thirty days notice either direction, fees that stop the day a placement ends.

  • What changes later

At some point I will not be the person on every kickoff call. When that happens it will be because we hired someone who does it properly, not because we grew past caring. The terms in the agreement are not a stage we pass through. They stay.

Boundaries

What we are not

Four things we get mistaken for.

  1. 01

    Not an employment agency.

We supply professional services under contract, not employees.

  2. 02

    Not a payroll company.

We do not administer anyone’s staff.

  3. 03

    Not a marketplace.

Nobody here was picked off an open listing. Every contractor is vetted, contracted and managed.

  4. 04

    Not a body shop.

We do not move volume, and we will tell you when hiring is the wrong answer to your problem.

How we work

Three rules
we hold to

They cost us deals sometimes. That is the point.

  1. We explain rather than persuade.

If this is not a fit, the useful outcome is finding that out on the first call.

  2. We answer the actual question.

When you raise a concern, you get a straight answer first and the reassurance afterwards, if it is warranted.

  3. We do not promise what the contract does not say.

Everything on this site traces to a clause in an agreement you can read before you sign.

The entity

The legal part

Short, because it should be.

Aptcruit LLC is registered in Wyoming, United States. Client agreements are governed by Wyoming law. We contract directly with every professional we place, which is what keeps you clear of any employment or co-employment relationship.

Find out if we are a fit

A twenty minute call. Describe the role and we will tell you what it costs, who we would look for, and how long it would take. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.
